We spoke about what a fraction is and defined numerators and denominators.

With our table group, we were tasked to use the fraction cards to see how many parts make a whole, whilst identifying the numerator and denominator.

Nursery Immersion Day - Animals and Habitats

This week, our curious nursery pupils had a truly magical experience as they spent a full day immersed in the wonders of Forest School. With  magnifying glasses in hand, they set off on an exciting adventure to explore the great outdoors—and what a day it was!

As part of our ongoing learning about the natural world, the children journeyed through different habitats, from leafy woodlands to muddy puddles and grassy clearings. Along the way, they discovered where animals, insects, and birds make their homes, and had the chance to learn and use new vocabulary like burrow, nest, den, offspring and hive.

The day was filled with hands-on learning, storytelling under the trees, and plenty of opportunities for the children to ask questions and share their ideas. They built their own mini-habitats using sticks, leaves, and stones, and even created imaginative stories about the creatures that might live in them.
