In Year 3, we have been learning about Islam, specifically Ramadan and Eid. We invited a selection of Muslims from the school (adults and children) that had been taking part in Ramadan - the holy month for Muslims where they fast, pray, and reflect on their faith. They were also joined by a local Iman from the Greenwich Islamic Centre. They formed a panel and were asked questions by the Year 3 classes about their experiences during Ramadan and Eid.
Ms. Mahmood had also been on a pilgrimage to Mecca a few weeks before and she was able to share that experience with the children as well. The children were really interested and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, asking a range of insightful questions.
