Parent Evenings - What was also on offer?

As well as the opportunity to speak to the class teachers about the children's progress, this week's Parent/Carer Evenings offered some food tasting of what is being currently given to the children at lunchtime by the new catering company, Independent Catering. The food seemed to go down very well with both adults and children alike!

In addition, refreshments were offered by some parent volunteers (many thanks to all those parents who volunteered!) and the older children presented some of the different learning activities currently being undertaken in school, such as the Maths 24 competition and Linguascope, an online language app.

Book Quiz at both HS and MW sites

Today the Book Quiz took place across both High St and Manor Way sites. The children formed groups of four to answer questions on some previously selected books that they had been reading. Well done to all the children who came along to participate.

Bannockburn Bistro - MW Site

Today's four invitees to the Bannockburn Bistro on the Manor Way site; chosen for their good manners in the dining room throughout this week.

MW Achievement Assembly

Congratulations to all the children who were recognised in today's Achievement Assembly at Manor Way.

Year 2 - Division, sharing, half, equal groups

Beech class have been working hard to investigate division. We have been exploring which numbers we can divide equally by 2, 5 or 10. We have looked at how to divide using sharing circles, cubes and number lines.

Music - Life could be a dream .....

Here's a sneak peak at some of the things Year 6 have been up to with the London Symphony Orchestra the week....

They were visited by the LSO education leader, Rachel Leach, who worked with them to produce work based around a piece of music. This work will be used as an online resource for other schools.

Bannockburn Primary School was asked because of the fantastic work that the children produced with the orchestra last year.

The children composed an epic piece of music - longer than the original.

They then performed it for Year 3 Olive and Hazel classes.

Diwali Assemblies

These images were taken from today's Diwali Assemblies across both High St and Manor Way. The children found out the importance of this festival in the Hindu calendar and listened to the story, Rama & Sita, which is one of the more well-known stories linked to this fesitval.

In addition, there are images chosen by some Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who helped present within the assemblies.
