On
Monday 25th June, Year 5 had a very special guest visit to talk about this month’s value, Determination. Benjamin Pritchard is a member of Team GB’s British Rowing
Team. He shared his inspirational story of how he was able to overcome a life-changing
injury, which saw him transition from a successful triathlete and cyclist to a
rising star in Paralympic sport.
After
an accident in 2016, Benjamin had to adjust to life as a wheelchair user. He
spoke to the children about the challenges he faced when first leaving the
hospital and taking up a new skill as an adaptive rower. However, with the
right attitude, passion, and determination he was able to set new goals to get
back to doing what he loved best – sport! Now with a number of awards and new
records set, Benjamin is proof that no matter what challenges you may face in
life, with the right attitude and determination you are able to achieve!
