Reception Teddy Bears Picnic

As part of our learning linked to 'Whatever Next!' Reception had a picnic like Baby Bear on the moon. This week we have been writing food lists and invitations to the picnic. 

 

Reception - Mini Chef

Last week, Cherry Tree made a delicious vegetable pasta dish for their Mini Chef with Miss Vincent! They worked very hard and learnt to safely slice and chop the vegetables before helping Miss Vincent put it all together. We hope you enjoyed it for dinner as much as we enjoyed making it! 

Reception - Dino Heroes!

Reception have been on a mission this week! There's been some strange things happening and Reception were there to save the day! 

First we heard some strange noises and whilst on our hunt around the school.... we found some giant eggs stuck in different places! Who did they belong to? Where did they come from? 

We made observational drawings of where we found the egg and drew what we thought may be inside. After finding some footprints, we made models of the creature we thought had been lurking around the school. 

But.... all was OK in the end! A poor Mummy dinosaur had been searching our school for her missing eggs and Reception saved the day, kindly giving them back to her to look after! Great work Reception! 

 

Reception - Throwing & Catching

Reception have been practising their throwing and catching skills. First we recalled our learning of  three different throws - an underarm throw, an overarm throw and a chest pass. We stood in a line and saw who threw their bean bag the furthest. After some practise we found a partner and practised our throwing and catching whilst sitting and standing. A group of 4 found a way to throw and catch to eachother all at the same time!
