Frozen Mini-Beasts in Cherry Class (Reception)

 Today was a HOT HOT HOT Day! 

So in Cherry class we froze some mini beasts overnight and got out our hammers to chip away at the ice blocks. 

We had lots of fun and it was nice and cold on our fingers.

Mini Chef in Cherry Class (Reception)

Cherry Class in Reception took part in Mini-Chef yesterday. We made vegetable stir fry noodles. We learnt about health and hygiene in the kitchen and how to use a knife safely. 

Cherry Class (Reception) Celebrate Lunar New Year

This week we have been celebrating Lunar New Year. We learnt that many people around the world celebrate this special time of year. We also learned about all the different Zodiac animals. Did you know this year is the year of the Tiger?

Throughout the week we have been writing numbers, making lanterns and enjoying some messy play and working on our fine motor skills with some noodles.

Cherry Class (Reception)- Where does our food come from?

The children in Cherry Tree Class (Reception) were introduced to the Kagan technique called Rally Robin this week. We used Rally Robin to think of different vegetables. 

Here are some photos of the children taking part in Rally Robin with their partners. 

We then learnt about about where our food comes from we learnt that hens lay us egg, cows give us milk and chips are made of potato's.

The children worked in their pairs to match up the pictures to the correct produce.

 

Cherry Class visit the Plumstead Library (Reception)

Yesterday Cherry Class in Reception visited Plumstead Library. We were very excited for Zac to read us a story and sing and dance. Zac read us the story Starbird by Sharon King-Chai. 

The children listened to the story and answered all the questions perfectly.

We cannot wait to go back again!
