Reception- Let's Go Fly a Kite

Whilst learning the letter/sound 'k', the children in Pear Tree made their own kites. They took them outside to watch them fly as they ran around the playground. Some children tested how long they could make their kite before it struggled to fly.

This week, children visited the Discover Story Centre in Stratford. They loved working with the story builders and were bursting with ideas to add. We highly recommend that you visit and let your imagination run wild.

Look at us Write!

In Reception we have been learning a lot of phonics sounds. We have practised using them to read and write words. Sometimes we use plastic letters to help remember how to form each one correctly.

Group RB - Reception’s First Week Back!

Well we have been very busy with our learning back at school!

Miss Bethell has been impressed with our efforts in Phonics and Literacy. This week we have been reviewing our sounds and using them to write new words.

We have written sentences about the characters in The Gruffalo story.
Which character is your favourite?

Aakriti's writing about mouse.

Sophie's writing about owl.

Angelin said 'The Gruffalo is my favourite.'
Swara's writing about mouse.
Alex's writing about fox.

We have even made colourful rainbows and had a virtual Singing Assembly with Mr Griffiths, which was great fun! It was like Mr Griffiths was really there!

Hello...EVERYONE!

Well done to all of the Reception children who have been back to school this week!

I wonder what we will learn in school next week!
