Movement in Year 2! - Maths

This week in Maths , we have been learning about position and directions. We learnt ways to remember our right from our left, such as the left hand makes an L. We defined what position , direction and movement means as well learning about clockwise and anti-clockwise. In pairs , we then gave each other instructions on what directions to turn to get to a specific spot. We finished off by playing a game using our new vocabulary  ; clockwise , anti-clock wise , rotation , quarter turn, 3/4 turn and half turns.

Year 4 learning with Linguascope

This week Year 4 used Ipads and headsets to create their own language lab-style lessons. They worked in pairs to learn vocabulary for Snacks linked to their food topic, by playing games that practise listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. We also discussed whether the vocabulary represented snacks which were healthy or not.

Remember - all children at Bannockburn have access to Linguascope App and website for further home learning , so ask your teacher for the most up-to-date login details.

Anti-bullying in Maple Class

This half term in PD, Year 5 are looking at how we are all different and that we celebrate those differences

We are considering what discrimination and bullying are and what we can do about them.

Here you can see some of Maple Class playing a game of Snakes and Ladders that they have adapted. They each added examples of direct and in-direct bullying, as well as suggestions of how to support someone that is being bullied, and ways to encourage someone using bullying behaviours to make better choices.
