Year 4 Science

Electricity 

This term, children in Year 4 had a fun time learning about electricity. First, they learned about how electricity is made and gets to our homes. They looked at various devices and appliances that use electricity and then they explored various conductors and insulators to make their own switches. Finally, they had a chance to use various components to build a working circuit.

This week, Year 4 pupils have been learning about electrical conductors and insulators. They worked in pairs to create different types of switches that could be connected to an electrical device. Once we had made our switch, we connected them to the other components to see if we could turn a circuit on and off.

Year 4 - Exploring circuits

This term, Year 4 have been learning about how electricity is made and the dangers around its use. We explored the symbols used in designing electric circuits and used the new Science lab to physically create our own working circuits.
