Fun with the animals - Cedar

 

Cedar loved spending time with different animals from the Exotic Explorers company. We learnt many interesting facts about owls, snakes, skunks and millipedes. Our favourite part of the visit was watching the owls fly around.

We enjoyed creating some owl pictures, using paint and tissue paper.

Having a hoot in Year 2!

Our topic this term is 'In to the Forest'. We have been reading 'The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark' in class which follows Plot the owl's adventures in the dark.

Today we were visited by some of Plop's feathery friends!

Nursery - A Visit by Jamb Owls

Today the nursery children had a visit from Jamb Owls.We had nine different types of owls in Acorn Class. We learnt facts about the different owls and were able to ask questions. We were fascinated by the different noises owls make, not just 'twit twooo.' We held an owl and gave them a gentle stroke. Owl Babies- Nursery

We have welcomed new families to our school and it is great to see some familiar faces too. The nursery children have been settling well into their new classes and we have started to learn about our topic story 'Owl Babies.'





















Together the children collected natural resources in Forest School to build a large owl.

The children have made various types of owls to support their role-play.

Nursery - Owl Babies

Our topic book for the first term was 'Owl Babies' by Martin Waddell. Nursery were visited by Jamb Owls. We had a variety of owls in our classroom. Matthew and Ian gave us an introductory talk about the owls and then had the opportunity to hold them. We were extremely excited to meet the owls we had been learning about.
