Money Makes Points - Winter Fair

Over the coming weeks, we will be collecting donations for the Winter Fair. Please help by giving any change you can.

At the end of the school day when you collect your child you will find a collection bag with the class teacher (just like in the picture). Extra house points will be allocated for classes who collect the most money.

Money means House Points!

Reading a rhythm - Year 1 music

Year 1 have been practising reading rhythms.  Can you read and clap the rhythms in the pictures?

We altered the speed of the backing track we were using - and realised that rhythms stay the same even if the beat goes fast or slow.

Year 4 PD

In PD this term, Year 4 have been learning about how we can all play an important part in our school community. We have spent time identifying ways that we can make sure every voice is listened to and valued. We have also been looking at what we can do if we are experiencing issues within our class community. After, developing problem solving strategies, Year 4 had time to think about how showing our school values can positively benefit our learning.

Year 4 RE: Judaism

In RE this term, Year 4 have been learning about Judaism. We have spent time identifying and exploring Jewish Artefacts, such as a Yad and the Torah scrolls. We have also been looking at religious stories from the Torah and thinking about how they help Jewish people in learning about their faith. After sequencing the stories, Year 4 had time to think about how the teachings from the stories linked to our school values and ways we could use those teachings in our daily lives.

Year 4 Trip to Canal Museum

This term, pupils in Year 4 have been writing warning stories about canals. They have also written a balanced argument that discusses whether canals are dangerous. To support their writing, children went on a trip to the London Canal Museum to learn about how canals were used in the past and to take a walk along the paths to help them understand the dangers and enjoyment of being beside the canal.

Year 3 build shelters!

Today, Year 3 headed down to the Forest School on a mission to build the best shelters that they could. The children were given a range of resources to support them in their mission. They used tarpaulins, tyres, bamboo, clips, rope as well as natural resources they could find in the Forest School. The classes compared their shelters and resources to ones from the Stone Age and were able to appreciate the challenge early humans would have faced!
