Linkages and levers in Year 2

This half term, Year 2 are learning about linkages and levers in our Design Technology lessons. Today we explored how to make a linkage and considered how to improve our prototypes before we making a moving monster toy in the coming weeks!

Bee-Bots with Year 2

In Computing this week we enjoyed using the Bee-Bots to input a set of directions for them to follow. We used the same four instructions (forward, forward, right and left) to create different algorithms. We enjoyed watching them move to different places and were able to discuss the difference between two sequences that consisted of the same instructions.

Year 4 - DT quilting

Year 4 have recapped their sewing skills this week in preparation for designing and making their own Victorian style 'hot pad' using quilting. We have our lists of 'Super sewers' ready to helping with threading, knotting and problem solving!

Reception - Building Bridges

Reception children were set a challenge to build a bridge with only paper, sellotape and scissors. We explored different ways to fold and roll paper to make the sturdiest beams for the bridge to stand. Look at some of the bridges we made, both big and small!

 Year 4 enjoyed using cup telephones to investigate how sound travels through solids and gases.

Year 3 - Computing










During a Computing lesson, pupils learnt about a range of ways to communicate online. They discussed the importance of how to take responsibility for digital footprints. In groups, pupils completed a task about the rules and guidelines to safely use digital platforms.

Food Tech in Year 1 - Plan, Make, Evaluate

First children learned about healthy fruit and vegetables and where they grow. Then they tasted different foods and chose their favourites.





After that children learned about food hygiene and kitchen safety before preparing the food.













Finally children tasted their cooking and evaluated it against their success criteria of it being healthy, balanced and tasty.
