Jogging...Walk: Year 1 Music

Year 1 are focussing on RHYTHM in their music lessons.

This week they created, then clapped, their own short rhythm patterns using 'Walk' and 'Jogging' (Crotchets and quavers).

They also copied down patterns that Mr Griffiths clapped!

They did a fantastic job - can you read their patterns?

Year 1 - Lego Workshop

This week Damson, Juniper, Lemon and Lime have had a special Lego workshop in Year 1 to complement our theme of Marvellous Machines.

We first constructed two villages, including houses, stations, docks and airports. We then set about connecting them by road, rail, river and sky using a variety of cunning contraptions.

It was a fantastic opportunity to let our imaginations run wild and some of our Lego creations were truly spectacular!

Year 1 have been using names of chocolate bars to make up rhythms.

They have then turned the rhythms into music notation.

Today we had our first go at writing the rhythms down.

We practiced clapping thm through all together.
