Second-hand items sales this March

Two Bannockburn Pupil Leadership Groups,  Eco Squad & Community Champions,  have been working together to organise second-hand item sales at both High Street and Manor Way sites after school this month; all the funds raised from the sales go to the Turkey & Syria Earthquake appeals organised by the DEC.

For our 1st sale, the children unpacked and organised the books, toys and clothes donated for sales at both sites and the sales raised over £50! The children were excited to help members of our global community and to encourage  people to buy and so recycle and reuse items to help our planet.

The next sale (further details TBC) will be a What You Can Spare sale, so you can buy any items you wish ,for whatever price you spare - bring a bag next time and get some bargains!

Preloved Christmas Jumper Sale - Eco Squad

 A big thank you to everyone who donated their preloved Christmas jumpers for the sale. We sold nearly all donations and will be donating the proceeds to Greenwich Foodbank. Well done to the Eco Squad for coming up with the idea!

Meet Bannockburn's Fundraising Team!

If I had to use one work to describe Bannockburn's new Fundraising Team, it would have to be...ENTHUSIASTIC! The ideas on how to raise money for charity in a fun way were flowing and we had lots of laughs thinking of events, themed days and types of sales we could run. We have decided on having a 'Make the Rules' day (watch this space!) and a mega book/toy/cake sale in the new year.

Millie the Guide Dog sponsored by Ochre House

Ochre House have just received their first Pupdate about their latest Guide Dog sponsor. She is called Millie, she is a Black Labrador puppy and she is VERY cute.

Smile Squad's special event - Monday 4th October

On Monday 4th October the Smile Squad will be helping organise an awareness event for World Smile Day. The charity which the Smile Squad are promoting is called Smile Train; they help people in disadvantaged countries access surgery for cleft lips and palates.

There will be a special guest teacher in the Manor Way playground who will be doing their best grumpy face - your challenge is to do or say something funny to break the teacher's frown and get them to show a lovely smile instead.

Come along to the stall to have a go and win a small prize, plus you can find out more about the Smile Train charity. 

Jeans for Genes Day 2021 - wear denim and donate!

 We will be wearing our denim and jeans on

 Friday 17th September 

to raise money to fund genetic research.

We can show kindness, empathy and appreciation by donating money to good causes such as Jeans for Genes Day.  

Suggested donation is 50p.

Charity Cards in Year 2

This week, Year 2 have been busy creating charity cards for people in need of a smile. We will be adding our cards along with all of Bannockburn to the 'Rain on London' fundraiser.

Jeans for Genes Day 2020 art and design competition
