This week the healthy eating monitors in Year 2 took part in Mini Chef. They met on Tuesday to decide what they wanted to make and decided to make Sweet Potato Curry.

Here are some photos of the Healthy Monitors making the curry.

Year 5 Rowan Mini-Chef - Curry and Rice with a Hint of Delicate Spice!

Year 5 Rowan Tree class used their culinary skills today and cooked up a healthy vegetable curry (using a home-made recipe) as part of their Food Technology learning. Yet again, Year 5 successfully sold out and made a profit! We hope our friends and families of Bannockburn enjoyed our curry.

A lot of us showed our value of the month resilience whilst creating our spice-enriched curry, as we were required to peel, chop and slice our vegetables. Ground coriander and turmeric were just a few of the special spices included in our recipe - can you think of others we might have added?

Year 5 Elm Mini-Chef - 3...2...1... BAKE! Pasta bake...

Year 5 Elm took part in cooking up a nutritious tuna pasta bake. This simple, yet scrumptious, 5 ingredient recipe was cooked for Mini-chef as part of our food technology learning.

We reminded ourselves of the importance of food hygiene and safety before we used our culinary skills to cook up a treat for friends and families at Bannockburn.

It was a great success, as again, Year 5 sold out within minutes and made a profit. We hope all those that purchased our tuna pasta bake will have a go at using our recipe!

Year 5 Orchard Class - Mini Chef!

Year 5 Orchard class cooked up a scrumptious sweet potato and tomato soup this week!

All our ingredients were fresh and within a good budget.
This helped us learn about healthy eating and how simple and cheap it could be to cook up a delicious meal with fresh ingredients that are good for us; we hope most of you were able to buy and try some!
