Landscape art in Year 1

Children enjoyed learning to use paintbrushes in different ways when painting landscapes.

Reception - Throwing & Catching

This half term we are practising our throwing and catching skills. First we practised small throws by ourselves using a beanbag. We then found a partner to throw and catch with. We talked about using our eyes to look at the beanbag to help us with our aim and catching as well as what would happen if we used different types of throws such as over arm and under arm. Cherry Tree had great fun!

Year 1 exploring the UK

In Geography this term Year 1 will be learning about the 4 countries of the UK. The children took turns visiting our 4 classes and learning a bit about each one in turn. They did some mystery solving, played cricket, made daffodils and danced a Highland ceidhli.
