Bannockburn Bistro - Manor Way

On Friday another four children were invited to our Bannockburn Bistro at Manor Way. Children are chosen for exhibiting good table manners whilst eating their lunch in the dining room. Mr Smales acted as the waiter and tried his best to make sure the invitees were given a first class service!

Year 1 - Traction Man Story

In Year 1 we have been reading the story, Traction Man, by Mini Grey. We are learning to describe storybook characters using adjectives and similies.  On our tables in groups we created mind maps and together; we all shared ideas on words to describe the Evil Dishcloth! We showed our school value of co-operation and took turns to share our thoughts whilst someone at our table wrote down our ideas.

Nursery Numicon

In Nursery Acorn Class we have been learning to recognise the different pieces of numicon. We use our fingers to count how many holes are in each piece and identify their colour. We are beginning to order the pieces from 1-10 and match them to their corresponding numeral.

Year 4 Reward Trip

Some of the children in Year 4 were chosen to go on a reward trip to the Science Museum. They were selected for making a brilliant start in Year 4 and showing our school values on a regular basis.

On the day, the children had the opportunity to visit the Wonderlab area where they explored a range of fun and hands-on exhibits that also encouraged open-ended exploration, inquiry, questioning and discussion.

The children behaved impeccably and a fun day was had by all.
