Year 3 have spent the last two weeks learning about poetry. We looked at a range of features such as rhyme, rhythm, onomatopoeias and repetition and practised using them in class. We have also been reading the book "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes and in our music lessons we have used instruments to add sound effects to the animated scene, in which the Iron Man falls off a cliff. We then combined all this learning to write a poem about the Iron Man and use instruments to add emphasis to our poems. We really enjoyed performing our poems to one another.
