Year 4 went on an exciting trip to the Natural History Museum to support their learning about volcanoes and earthquakes. The children explored fascinating exhibits that showed how the Earth changes over time, including real rock samples, models of volcanoes, and information about tectonic plates. They learned new vocabulary and discovered how scientists study natural disasters to help keep people safe.
One of the highlights of the day was experiencing an earthquake in the simulator, where the children could safely feel what an earthquake is like and understand its impact on buildings and people. The class also took part in a hands-on workshop led by museum experts, where they asked thoughtful questions and deepened their understanding of how volcanoes erupt and why earthquakes happen. It was an enjoyable and memorable trip that brought their classroom learning to life.
