Raksha Bandhan bracelets in Year 3 Walnut Class

In Year 3 Walnut Class this half term we have been learning about Hinduism. This week we learnt about the festival of Raksha Bandhan, also know as Rakhi. It is the celebration of love between brothers and sisters and commences when there is a full moon.

We learnt that 'Raksha' means protection and 'Bandhan' means to tie. This tied into our lesson nicely as we made bracelets for our friends in the class. We learnt the skill of platting and had to be careful and patient as it was quite tricky.

Here are some photos of us making our bracelets.
