We have been practising our addition and subtraction skills with different resources this week. We have evidenced the school value of Cooperation and worked really well as a team.
We used the big shapes and the bean bag target to practise subtraction. We were subtracting from 20, so we selected a shape, counted the corners and sides and took that number away from 20. We took it in turns to throw the bean bag onto the target, identified the number it landed on and took that number away from 20.
We also made up their own addition and subtraction sentences using the cones and giant Numicon. We had lots of fun and challenged ourselves with higher numbers.
