Year 3 Trip to the Chocolate Museum

Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!

Year 3 have enjoyed visiting the Chocolate Museum in Brixton this week. We travelled safely on the train and underground tube to get to the museum.
Inside the museum, we learnt about the cacao pod, which is the main reason we have chocolate! The Mayans and Aztecs used to call it 'the food of the Gods'.
Then, we found out how chocolate is made. This will help us in Literacy with our explanation writing. Also, we were so lucky because we were allowed to make our own chocolate treats! Lollipops and chocolate fudge galore!

Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!

Year 3 are having a great time learning all about chocolate this term! We are reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and using the text to inspire our writing. We have used drama to act in role of the characters in the story.
Have you read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Which character is your favourite?

This week we have been designing delicious chocolate treats, using our imagination to select ingredients. We are writing diary entries in the role of Charlie Bucket.

Remember! Next week we are visiting The Chocolate Museum!
How lucky are we?!
