Year 6 Elder spent Friday morning cooking a delicious Lancashire Hot Pot which they went on to sell in the playground at the end of the day. We chose the recipe based on our current learning about seasonality and food miles.

Year 4 - Pine Tree get cooking!
During Mini-Chef last week, Pine Tree made a spicy potato curry with fluffy white rice. We worked in small groups to wash peel and chop the potatoes, onions and tomatoes. We spoke about the importance of washing the potatoes and the rice to remove starch.
When it was our time to prepare the ingredients, we thought about good food hygiene practices. including washing our hands, wearing an apron and a hair net.
We were all very sensible when working with knives and cooking on the hob. Boxing up the recipe, washing up and clearing up were just as important jobs which the children all got involved in.
The potato curry was a great success as we sold the entire batch to our parents! Recipe cards will be going home with the children tomorrow if you would like to try making this at home for yourselves.
