Year 2 - Active Maths

This week in maths we have been taking part in a series of Active Maths lessons in order to practise what we have learnt throughout this term.

We took part in human number lines and addition and subtraction races. We also played an odd and even sorting activity which helped us identify odd and even numbers. Finally, we took part in a times table circle game.

Nursery: Acorn Tree's number writing

In Nursery Acorn Tree we have been very busy. Among other activities, we have been looking at numbers in the outside area. 

Some of the children looked at the digits and recognised them by shape, shouting out what they had found, whilst others picked up a whiteboard and pen and began to trace around them with great care! Take a look at some of our great work below...

In Cherry Tree Class we have been working really hard to practise our number and letter writing. In our lessons we have been learning special rhymes to help us remember the correct way of writing them and have used our independent learning time to have a go by ourselves.
