Reception Dental Nurse

We were lucky enough to have a visit from the dental nurse who helped us learn about how to look after our teeth. We sang songs, listened to a story and sorted foods which were good and not so good for our teeth. We particularly enjoyed having a turn to brush Sam's teeth with the big toothbrush.

Nursery Conker Class explores in Forest School

Children from Conker class went exploring in Forest School. They collected some natural materials, including twigs, leaves and seeds from the sunflowers. When they got back to the classroom they used the things that they had found to make some 'nature wands'.

Nursery (Acorn) shop 'til we drop!

This week in Acorn we have been talking about food and the different things we might find in the shops. We've had the play food and money out so that we can pretend to do our own shopping too! Take a look below and see what some of us said whilst we were playing...

"I can buy some hot dogs for 2"

"Look at the orange I got. It cost 5."

Nursery - Acorn Tree go hunting for houses

Last week Acorn Tree went out on a trip to the local area. We went in search of different housing types as part of our topic: Where People Live

With a little support from our teachers and parent/carer helpers, we noticed terraced houses, flats and even semi-detached houses!

Some of us were able to identify the different shapes that we could see in the form of windows, doors and roofs.

Reception - Pear Tree goes Magnet Mad!

Today in Pear Tree Class we looked at magnets. We had the opportunity to look at a range of different types and were incredibly excited to see what they could do. We tried a range of different classroom items, before working out that some things just weren't attracted to magnets!

Take a look at some of the things we discovered were magnetic below!

Reception - Excuse me, doctor.

This week in Pear Tree we have been looking at a range of people who help us within the local community. We thought about the different jobs that they do and specifically how they help us.

One activity that we enjoyed in particular was pretending to be doctors, surgeons and nurses. We thought about the different objects that they would normally use and tried them out for ourselves. Take a look at how much fun we had!
