On Monday, children from Year 6 that have had excellent attendance throughout their time at Bannockburn went on a trip to Thorpe Park. They had a fabulous day and discovered their more adventurous sides.

Thorpe Park
When asked to recreate the faces they pulled on the Quantum ride, we saw a range of emotions.

As Ochre achieved the most House Points last academic year, the teams effort was rewarded with a Bubble Show that came into school. There was lots of laughter and a few very loud bangs!

We don't talk about.... our Encanto reward afternoon for Year 3 Spanish learners!
As a reward for their commitment to learning and effort towards their Spanish lessons, last week a group of Year 3 pupils enjoyed an afternoon with SeƱora Seaton, where they enjoyed tasting lots of traditional Spanish snacks, such as tortilla de patata con chorizo, pimientos o espinacas, whilst they watched the Disney film Encanto, which is set in Columbia, South America. They also took part in a quiz to practise the new Spanish words they had learn through watching the film as there are lots of Spanish and Latino references made throughout the film.
If you want to try and sing the beautiful Spanish song called Dos Oruguitas from the film, use the lyric video below to help you and sing along.

Year 6 Elm's reward trip to Joss Bay
After a delay due to wet and windy weather, a group of Year 6 children from Elm went to Joss Bay last Thursday.
They were chosen for their consistently good behaviour choices, positive attitudes to their work and good attendance.
For some of the children it was their first visit to the seaside and they had a great experience.
Unfortunately the seagulls were very attentive to anything they thought might be food, so we had to eat our lunch 'undercover.'

Year 2 Ochre - Circus Tricks!
As a reward for their success in last year's house competition, Ochre house team members were invited to Manor Way to take part in a circus skills reward workshop with a professional circus artist.
The children watched some displays by the performer and then got to have a go at different types of juggling, balancing and even got to try and walk along the tight rope!
Mrs Seaton was pleased to see so many happy excited faces from her Ochre Team and hopes that this year, all children (in all the houses!) get lots of house points for being amazing children!
