Year 4 Volcanic Eruptions in Gymnastics!

 

In Year 4 this half term, our topic has been natural disasters. We have been learning gymnastics in Indoor PE and have spent time preparing a gymnastics routine that represents a volcanic eruption! We have spent time sequencing the events that can lead to a volcano erupting in humanities and have incorporated a range of gymnastic positions, balances, rolls, jumps and leaps to represent each stage in pairs.  After practising each gymnastic skill carefully and safely, we created a routine using each of them to perform to the rest of the class.

Making 5!

This week in Reception, we did some Active Maths during P.E. We discovered the different ways we could make 5. How many ways can you make five at home?

Year 6 Aspen - Netball

We have really enjoyed starting to play netball- last week we worked on different types of pass and how to work with a small team to communicate effectively.

We were proud of the resilience we showed and how we gave each other helpful feedback to improve our performance. We finished the session by playing a game where we raced other teams using our throwing and catching skills- we will try to beat our best times this week!
