Year 3 Ukulele Club!

Year 3 Ukulele Club
What a fantastic term it has been for our Year 3 Ukulele Club! Our budding musicians have traded silence for some seriously catchy tunes, and we couldn’t be prouder of the progress they’ve made.
We kicked things off by getting to know our instruments. From learning the names of the parts to mastering the four strings (G, C, E, and A), the children quickly moved from "plucking" to "playing."
The real magic happened when we tackled our first four chords. With just a few finger placements, the group unlocked a world of music. These foundational skills allowed us to jam along to some huge hits, including:
  • Roar
  • Best Day of My Life
  • Waka Waka
Seeing the children grow in confidence, coordination, and musicality has been a joy. Whether they were perfecting a tricky transition or singing along at the top of their lungs, their enthusiasm was infectious.
A huge well done to all our Year 3 performers

Flags and colours in Spanish - Year 3

Year 3 have continued to develop their knowledge of colours in Spanish by applying what they have learned alongside some interesting key vocabulary to form full sentences. Using this newly learned skill, they have described the colours of different flags from around the world. From Panama to Germany, the year group was able to write in full sentences about the beautiful colours of many national flags in Spanish. 🌍🎨

Last week, children in year 3 had the opportunity to conduct a survey in Spanish! They asked their peers questions in Spanish like, "Qué tal?" and "Como te llamas?," working on those essential skills for language development of speaking and listening.

We are teachers! Year 3 Spanish

Year 3 had an amazing Spanish lesson last week in which they pretended to be different teachers from the school. They greeted and asked each other's names, using their knowledge of the vocabulary learnt, enabling to have a short interaction in Spanish!

Y3's first Spanish lesson!

Year 3 had their very first Spanish lesson last week!

They enjoyed taking part in an active/fun sing-along session in which they had the chance to learn new words, ask questions and even say their names in Spanish!

They absolutely loved the song "Hola!, Qué tal?"

Why not sing it at home? Follow this link: https://youtu.be/GbwTV34lgbg?feature=shared

Year 3/4 Art Club

Year 3 and 4 Art Club have focused on a different artist each week. This week we learn about an artist named Claude Monet, who was famous for impressionist art. We recreated his famous painting ‘The Water Lillies’ using paints to create different shades of blue and green.
