Year 3 Investigate Soil!

This week in Science, Year 3 have been learning about different kinds of soil. Based on our soil investigation, we discussed what we had observed. We also identified the different features on each type of soil. In addition to this, we also reflected on the purpose of soil, the importance of it and what it provides for animals, plants and humans.

Our green-fingered Gardening Club at Manor Way

Today some Key Stage 2 pupils from Gardening Club toured the Manor Way playground to examine and assess the current gardening plots. They looked at the soils and current plant growth, and with the help of Mrs O'Boyle, planned some new exciting ideas for the house gardening plots and discussed how else we make great places for growing and harvesting, exploring and relaxing at Manor Way.

The High Street site has an amazing array of plants, fruits and vegetables which grow there and which are included in out school lunches and cooking - we hope to do something similar at Manor Way so watch this space.
