Pine Tree trip to London Canal Museum

Pine Tree visit the London Canal Museum

This term, Year 4 have been learning about different bodies of water. We learned about how they are formed and how they are used. To help us with our writing, we went to the London Canal Museum to see what it was like walking along the canals and to learn how they were used in the past.

Pupils were able to explore a barge that was used to transport goods into the city, dress up like the people who worked on the canals and find out about the dangers of being by the water.

Staying Out in Year 3

This half term, Year 3 are learning all about how to add suspense and tension to their story writing. Our model text in called Staying Out, a tale of two boys who camp out in the garden only to find...they are not alone.

To immerse ourselves in the text, we used drama to act out the story. We even used instruments to represent the sounds that someone or somebody was making outside the tent!

But don't worry. It was only a...hedgehog!

News just in! Year 2 win medals!

This week, Year 2 have been introduced to newspaper reports in English. We have begun to learn our new Talk for Writing text that features an article about a brave woodcutter, who saved Little Red and her grandmother from the jaws of a terrifying wolf!

As the woodcutter won a medal for his courageous efforts, the year 2 child got to make their own medal for achievements in their life and share them with their peers.
