Join in and play with our Playground Leaders team!

Our Playground Leaders team met with Mrs Seaton last week where they practised leading some traditional playground games, with the aim to play them during break or lunch and encourage others to join them. The Playground Leaders are always looking for ways to encourage people to show values such as friendship, kindness and fairness, so if you have more ideas, share them with your class rep :)

Year 6 French Fashion project gets underway

This week Year 6  have started working on their annual Fashion Show; we spent our lesson time this week planning our outfits and translating all the new ambitious vocabulary we will need into French using our French bilingual dictionaries and online dictionary resources. Our next step in the project will be using our new language and manipulating vocabulary Mrs Seaton has previously taught us to build our own description sentences.
Mrs Seaton was so stunned with Elm's efforts she forgot to take any photos of them in action!

Ochre House has a brave, fierce and loyal new member......

The Ochre House captains met our new friend this week. They've promised to show all the values, they've agreed to take part in the Fun Run, they'll make appearances at the school fairs and have pledged that they will do all they can to make Ochre House a roaring success this year and get some Yellow ribbons on display!

However as yet our new friend doesn't have a name! So send in your suggestions for a name for our new Lion mascot and we will vote for their name together in our next house assembly.

Values Team use poetry and drama to promote our 22 school values

This week was the turn of the Values Team to meet as part of their Pupil Leadership Group time. In their first meeting they discussed how we can help everyone in our school community remember our school values better and with quicker recall; we started work on a rhyming values poem - which values can you think of that rhyme with another?

Then we played Values Charades where we worked in mixed-age pairs to act out scenarios where the values were exemplified, with the rest of the team trying to guess which value was being shown as each pair performed.
