Shiver me timbers! It's Pirate Day in the Nursery!

 On Wednesday this week, we held a Pirate Day in Nursery. We all had the opportunity to dress up as pirates and learnt about the things that they might have said. Among other activities, we learnt a range of pirate themed songs and matched actions to those phrases in a listening game.

Wilderness Day in Year 2!

 To introduce our new topic 'Into the Wild', Year 2 took part in a 'Wilderness Day' in the Forest School.

The children got to explore the Forest School by making mud pies, hold worms and other mini-beasts, make bird feeders, jump through the trees and try out bark and leaf rubbings. Here are some photos of our wild day!

Year 5 Titanic Topic Day

On Monday 6th January, Year 5 enjoyed a themed day to introduce their new topic, 'The Titanic'. The children rotated through a series of activities, which including baking cabin biscuits, creating a mood board while listening to music, which was played on the famous ship, taking on the role of passengers and making a lifeboat that moved using friction. Thank you to all the children who made such a brilliant effort to dress up.

3, 2, 1, BLAST OFF!

Guess what we are learning about this term in Year 2 - SPACE!

Today, in Acer Class, we begun our learning sharing what we already knew about Space. Then we learnt to dance like astronauts and used crayons and paint to create our own space art work.

It was a fun day and we are looking forward to learning more!

Year 4 Stone Age Day

This term Year 4 are learning all about the Stone Age and what better way to celebrate this then by having a Stone Age Day!

As part of this day Year 4 tried different foods that would have been eaten by cavemen. This included berries, leaves and even dried meat!

They also made their own spears and jewelry, understood a day in the life of a cave man and studied prehistoric beasts before hunting for the elusive woolly mammoth.

We had great fun!
