Measuring in Year One

This week in maths, year one have being focusing on measuring. Today we were measuring using beads. We began by measuring the beads and found that each bead was 1cm long. We used this knowledge to measure the length and height of many things in our classroom. We even measured our shoes or our feet!

Little people on the loose

Year One children were very excited by a new class book. Unfortunately the characters escaped from the book. Luckily the children came up with a plan to follow a set of instructions and to lure them back. They have been writing stories, making traps and tipis. Fingers crossed their plan will work and the characters will be back in the book on Monday………
