Active Maths at High Street site
At High Street we have been busy trying to bring Maths to life and have launched 'Active Maths' to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
'Active Maths' is a mixture of P.E and Maths and allows the children to use their independence skills to solve a variety of fluency and problem solving tasks outside of the classroom.
Here are some of the children hard at work and having lots of fun at the same time!

Year 1 - Lime Class Mini Chef
We finished off the last half term by trying out our cooking skills with Mini Chef!
We chopped, peeled and made a lot of bundles of spaghetti until we created a delicious vegetable bolognese.
What a great success it was, selling out by the end of the day.

Year 1 - Chinese New Year in Juniper Class
Juniper Tree Class
This week we continued to learn about different celebrations in RE. Firstly, we reminded ourselves of what we had learnt so far about Eid, Holi, and Hannukah before staring to think about Chinese New Year.
As part of our research we learnt people celebrate this festival by eating special food and by watching dragon dances.
We did some some food tasting of noodles with soy sauce and vegetable spring rolls and made our own dragon puppets.

Year 1 (Juniper Class) - Aquatic Animal Design
Juniper Tree Class
This term we have been planning and researching the best ways to make our own aquariums in Design and Technology. We looked at some ideas by using the internet and thought about what materials would last the longest, look the best and how we would join everything together.
We created our own design plans and and created a class aquarium before beginning to build our own.

Team Gardening
Staff from both High Street and Manor Way met to begin work on the House Team Gardens. We de-weeded the garden beds and ensured the soil was turned ready for planting in spring. Along the way we made friends with the local wildlife and worked together to get the job done!

Happy End of Term - Year 3 Greek Day
What a fun day we had in Year 3 today!
It was Greek Day!
Today, we enjoyed making healthy and delicious Greek salads...
We also wrote in role as an Olympic athlete, then held our own Olympic flames...
and as always, we all enjoyed wearing fabulous costumes (even the teachers!)
Thank you to the effort you have put in this term, particularly with your Greek temples, which were part of your homework tasks and your perseverance learning to sew in DT.
Great work Year 3!
