Ochre House has a brave, fierce and loyal new member......

The Ochre House captains met our new friend this week. They've promised to show all the values, they've agreed to take part in the Fun Run, they'll make appearances at the school fairs and have pledged that they will do all they can to make Ochre House a roaring success this year and get some Yellow ribbons on display!

However as yet our new friend doesn't have a name! So send in your suggestions for a name for our new Lion mascot and we will vote for their name together in our next house assembly.

Millie the Guide Dog sponsored by Ochre House

Ochre House have just received their first Pupdate about their latest Guide Dog sponsor. She is called Millie, she is a Black Labrador puppy and she is VERY cute.

Millie's Page

Here is the page where you can follow her journey to becoming a qualified Guide Dog and see photos of her growing up.

If you have any suggestions of how we, as a house team, can raise even more money for good causes  and local charities then let us know.

House Team Bake Sale at Manor Way

After school on Wednesday at Manor Way, a house team bake sale competition was held.

Well done and thank you to everyone who baked delicious goods or donated items for their house stall to sell, and also to those who supported their house by purchasing sweet treats. Also a big thank you to the house captains and parent helpers who came to get involved and helped organise the event.

The pounds will also be converted into house points - so keep an eye on the website for the next totals update!

Indigo and Emerald House Assemblies

This week Indigo and Emerald House Teams had their cross-site House Assemblies at the High Street Site. After a brisk walk over by the KS2 children from Manor Way, Indigo and Emerald House Assemblies were led by Mr Griffiths and Mrs Sammarco, who wore her super special, spangly emerald jacket!

Mr Griffiths told Indigo all about a young blind pianist who has overcome his sight problems to become a famous, inspiration musical genius! The children got to watch a video of his amazingly impressive skills and talked about they can use him as inspiration for their dreams and aspirations.

Mrs Sammarco shared different things and people who inspire her, and reminded the children how they can inpsire her with their running by taking part in the annual Fun Run on Sunday 29th March. She also announced an art competition (she is inspired by lots of artists) to design a masterpiece for the 4th Plinth in Trafalgar Square - ask your teacher for more details if you would like to enter!

Woolwich Winter Warmer

Last weekend over 120 pupils, family and friends came together to represent the Bannockburn community at the Woolwich Winter Warmer Lantern Parade.

After meeting at the Woolwich Centre to collect our lanterns, which were made prior to the event in a special workshop run by Emergency Exit Arts, the parade set off; we walked throught the streets of Woolwich through to the Royal Arsenal, enjoying the festive atmosphere, samba drum rhythms and beautiful lantern artworks that were carried through the town.

The event ended with a spectacular fireworks display
that lit up the Royal Arsenal.

Thanks to everyone who attended; the house points earnt will be added to the current totals very soon.

Year 2 Ochre - Circus Tricks!

As a reward for their success in last year's house competition, Ochre house team members were invited to Manor Way to take part in a circus skills reward workshop with a professional circus artist.

The children watched some displays by the performer and then got to have a go at different types of juggling, balancing and even got to try and walk along the tight rope!

Mrs Seaton was pleased to see so many happy excited faces from her Ochre Team and hopes that this year, all children (in all the houses!) get lots of house points for being amazing children!
