Stranded at sea!

Year 2 went on a rescue mission after finding a mysterious message in a bottle. We listened to the sounds of the sea and imagined sailing over the waves. However, we got caught in a storm and got shipwrecked ourselves! Have a look at at our boat trip and messages below.

Nursery - Money Madness!

 In Nursery we have been looking at money! We started by singing 'Five Currant Buns' as a class, paying a penny to the shopkeeper and purchasing one bun. 

Afterwards, we went shopping for other types of food, and even took it in turns to scan the food and work on the till. 

Finally, we cut out different coins and notes and stuck them to our purses, telling each other what coins we had. 

Year 5 - A French Café in Maple Tree Class

Ms Britton, who has been learning extra French herself to improve her own language skills, organised a special French Café lesson for Maple Tree this week.

The children designed menus and played the roles of customers and servers to ask and take orders in their restaurants.

Ms Britton explained excitedly, "The children have really been enjoying all the extra little French activities we have been doing and I love learning with them."

Magnificent Mummification! Year 3 bring learning to life!

As part of learning on Ancient Egypt, Year 3 have been studying the process of mummification and why it was important and special to the ancient Egyptians! After researching the process, we took on the role of a pharaoh's advisor and assistant and mummified our friends to help us remember all the steps! It was pretty gory but great fun! We are writing clear instructions to record the steps! Look out for those on the blog soon!
