Textile Design Technology in Year One

 It all began with practicing weaving skills.

Then children practised sewing - running stitch.

Then children were ready to sew their felt bags.

Next step was to tie dye some material for the handles. Children used elastics to tie around some cotton fabric.

Finally children attached the handles and added some decoration.

As children have spent this term designing and making bags, some children were chosen to visit the exhibition of a fashion designer. we highly recommend that you go to the Now Gallery in North Greenwich to take a look.
