Year 3 Winter song all about Invierno

Here are our lyrics for the Spanish song, which we will be performing at the festive shows next week so you can practise at home!

This Spanish Winter song has been adapted from the original Youtube lyrics slightly to ensure all children can learn it as part of their MFL curriculum.

Year 3 Walnut Class - Terrific Times Tables Dominos!

Today in Walnut Tree Class, we used a new Maths resource that arrived in our classroom from Mr Smales. They are multiplication dominos and so far, all the children have found them very useful to use during Maths and when learning their times tables!

"Sometimes they are hard to match as you have to look at the answers and the questions." Priteana

"I really enjoyed using them today because they are very useful when learning our times tables." Adam

We all worked together to write this blog and we hope you enjoy seeing the fun we had!

Walnut Tree's Creative Homework

Willy Wonka Hats

In Literacy we have been reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory. As part of Year 3 homework, the children were set the task of creating their very own Willy Wonka hat!

Walnut Tree Class took on this challenge and created some amazing and imaginative examples!

Here are some of the children modelling their hats...

Can you spot the hats which have used real sweets?

Year 3 - The History of Chocolate

As Year 3's topic for this half term is Chocolate, today we learnt how chocolate has developed from the Mayan and the Aztec xocolatl drink to the chocolate bar that we know today. We sequenced a chocolate time line which showed how chocolate has developed over time. We had lots of fun finding out just how old well-known chocolate bars are.
Did you know a Cadburys flake has been around for 96 years?
