The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations

Here are some photos and videos links from the Platinum Jubilee celebrations that took place at each site.

All classes, from Nursery right up to Year 6, took part in various activities both in class and at breaks and lunches, to mark the occasion: crown-making, a special assembly, maypole dancing, flag-making, quizzes, British Values mindfulness activities to name but a few! Lunchtime became an outdoor picnic experience with our talented cooks creating some delicious and healthy traditional sandwiches and snacks.

The children looked fantastic in their Red White and Blue colours and they performed their songs and dances like true superstars! Plus there were some very surprised faces when our special guest arrived to dance with them!

Dancing through the Decades for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022

As part of our Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Thursday 26th May, children at both High Street and Manor Way sites will take part in a special performance of Dance through the Decades.

Here is the routine for you to watch, copy and learn, ready for the big day.

It features some of the most successful British musical artists of all time and flows through a variety of popular music genres of the decades from the 1950s right up to 2020 - how many bands, singers or genres can you recognise? Your adults might remember some of the hits - get them to join in with your practising at home!

5 minute French brain-break in Birch - On y va, à la disco!

Today, Birch Class in Year 6 took part in a 5-minute French disco dancing brain-break; not only did it give us a chance to move our bodies and get our energy levels back up, but at the same time we also revised some French vocabulary and it made everyone feel great - dancing is so good for your physical and mental wellbeing!
