Book Quiz winners manage to escape!

Today, the winners of the Spring Term Book Quiz took part in completing their own escape rooms at 'The Panic Room' in Gravesend.

Children from Year 2 and 3 enjoyed visiting the Emerald City and finding heart, brains and courage to escape their room and children from Years 4 and 6 faced a terrifying dinosaur to complete their quest! I am pleased to say that both teams finished in time!

We ended our trip by having our lunch at Gravesend Library and this was followed by many naps on the way back to school! A successful reward trip I'd say!

Well done again to all the winners! I hope you all take part in the next book quiz in the summer!

Manor Way Book Quiz!

This term's Manor Way Book Quizzes were a great success with many children taking part! What an incredible turn out for all year groups!

The children worked incredibly well and cooperatively in their teams, putting much effort into reading.

Years 3 and 4 read  'How To Train Your Dragon' and learning about Chinese New Year for extra bonus points!

Years 5 and 6 read 'The Demon Headmaster' and 'Carrie's War'.

Well done to all of the children involved and congratulations to the winning 3/4 team... S.H.R.E and the winning 5/6 team...The Book Worms!

Myself and Mr. Williams were particularly impressed with the year 3/4 tie-breaker answer. They showed a clear understanding of genre and were able to explain their choice articulately.

The force is strong with Bannockburn!

The seven winners of our latest book quiz were rewarded with a trip to the latest Star Wars Identities Exhibition at the O2 Arena in North Greenwich. The lucky children from Years 1-4 had a fantastic day out; they saw some amazing pieces of original Star Wars memorabilia, such as drawings, models and even costumes featured in the films. The children took part in the interactive identity trail and created their own Star Wars characters based on their personal traits, qualities and values. They finished off the day by enjoying some churros con chocolate, which are traditional Spanish doughnut strips dipped in chocolate sauce - mmmmmmmmm so delicious!
