Y3 Drama in English - Stone Age Boy

This week, Year 3 went to the Manor Way Forest School for the first time! All classes got to act out the moment our main character gets transported from a muddy path to a mountain top in our English focus text: Stone Age Boy. We really enjoyed using real-life props such as stones, sticks and boulders to add dramatic effect to this very important scene. We are looking forward to visiting our fantastic Forest School soon for more practical learning outdoors.

Y3 RE: Why is the world so special?

For our first week of learning in Religious Education, Year 3 discussed why our world (and all of the important living things within in it) is so special. We looked closely at different natural living things, such as insects, wood and wool. We discussed how they were all so intricately made and how each living thing is wonderfully unique. We came to the understanding that every living thing, including human beings is uniquely special and therefore important. We drew the conclusion that we will always try our best to show love and respect to all people and animals in our world.

Human Sculptures - Year 2

As part of our Art topic, Year 2 spent the afternoon making human sculptures from plasticine. We also used images from our core text, 'The Tunnel' as inspiration!

Scavenger Hunt - Year 5

To kick off their Outdoor Adventurous Activities, Year 5 students embarked on a scavenger hunt around the playground! They were tasked with finding specific objects and then recording the corresponding symbols for those objects on their answer sheets.

Tunnels in Year 2!

In English this half term, Year 2 will be learning how to describe different settings. To help us with our learning, Year 2 will be focusing on the text 'The Tunnel'. To help the children engage with the story we set up a spooky tunnel to help the children understand the concept of 'portal stories'. Here are some of the brave children entering it!
