This week, Year 1 have been practising their number bonds to 10 and 20. They have listened to songs to help them as well as cubes and Numicon. They have been writing them as addition sentences on their boards,working on number formation. They have been continuing their learning during exploration time.
Y6 Elder had a brilliant time cooking Mexican Bean and Potato bake to sell after school.
Linden Class enjoyed making some delicious Sweet Potato and Black Bean Enchiladas for their Mini-Chef day this term. This recipe was chosen for its links to Mexico, the homeland of the Mayan people we have been learning about.
After school on Wednesday at Manor Way, a house team bake sale competition was held.
Well done and thank you to everyone who baked delicious goods or donated items for their house stall to sell, and also to those who supported their house by purchasing sweet treats. Also a big thank you to the house captains and parent helpers who came to get involved and helped organise the event.
The pounds will also be converted into house points - so keep an eye on the website for the next totals update!
Twelve lucky children from Year 6 enjoyed a trip to Central London last week as a reward for their hard work this term. They were chosen for being children who consistently make their best effort, who try their hardest to show the school values and who are role models for others.
After taking the train to Charing Cross, they enjoyed a walk around some famous sights, even seeing the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace! From Piccadilly Circus, they walked up Regent Street to Hamley's, one of the most famous toy shops in the world.
Once there, they watched a range of demonstrations and admired the huge Lego models. Some children even had a go on a karaoke machine and astonished onlookers with their vocal talents!
The children made some incredible mazes inspired by the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur! Well done for receiving your certificates and house points from your teacher.
