Elm Mini Chef

Elm class had a day of food technology lessons in the community kitchen. They learned about the seasonality of fruit and vegetables, as well as the practical skills of peeling, cutting, garlic crushing, kneading dough, not forgetting of course cleaning and washing up! They worked as a team to cook a nutritious lentil curry with carrots and potatoes, along with some delicious bread rolls. 

Year 4 - RE - Humanist Guest speaker

Year 4 invited a Humanist speaker – Clive Aruede. They learnt that  Humanism, is a non-religious belief system that emphasizes on human values, reason, and compassion. The speaker explained key principles of humanism, such as kindness, fairness, and responsibility. The session encouraged critical thinking and helped students understand different perspectives on life and ethics.

Reception- Superhero Day

The children in Reception were excited for Superhero Day after designing and making their masks. Throughout the day the children took part in various activities across all the reception classes. Tasks included creating their own superhero lair, completing an obstacle course to rescue the superheroes, answering questions in the superhero quiz, learning to recite a poem, singing and dancing.

All superheroes are now ready to complete any mission that comes their way!
