Year 5 - Have you been fire safe? Year 5 have!

If you need some advice on fire safety, why not ask Orchard or Elm?

This week, Orchard and Elm joined classes and had a fire safety talk together, which was presented by a fire officer from the London Fire Brigade. This enabled us to think about simple ways we could be safe; for example, did you know you should check your fire/smoke alarm once a week?

The fire brigade officer called Connor explained to us the importance of having a fire plan and how we need to keep ourselves and others safe by teaching us the steps we need to take if there is a fire.

There were some handy tips to share with adults we know that like lighting candles. We learnt that lit candles should never be by a draped curtain or by a sofa.

We were even able to take a fire safety poster home to share some fire safety tips with our family!
