Year 5 Musical Codes

Year 5 have been brushing up their music reading skills, finding the hidden words written with music notes. They listened to music that has codes hidden within in it: Elgar's Enigma Variations

We also talked abut a composer that used to add his initials to his music - like an artists signature, D. SCH.

Next week, we will be making our own musical signatures.

Wellbeing and Mental Health links.

 Support for parent/ carers

"Looking after your own mental health and well being is
an important part of being a parent and carer. Parenting is
a full time job - as well as the rewards it can be tiring and
stressful. If you feel low or stressed - it can feel even harder.

You may worry that you will be judged, and people will
think you are not able to be a good parent because you are
finding things hard.

Lots of parents struggle at times with their mental health
and are very good parents."

Year 2 exploring!

In Science we are learning about living things and habitats! We explored forest school and the playground to see if we could find living things, things that are no longer living and things that have never been alive. Take a look and see what we found!

Year 3 English - using dialogue

Using dialogue for a wishing tale.

This week, Year 3 have been looking at how dialogue is used in a wishing tale. We discussed what types of conversation characters world have and how to use intonation to read expressively to show how a character talks. We practised reading dialogue using intonation.

Year 3 English - The King of the Fishes

 The King of the Fishes

For English, Year 3 have been reading a wishing tale called The King of the Fishes. We looked at the descriptive language used to describe the character and used different creative skills to design our own versions of  The King of the Fishes.

Active Maths in Year 3

Today Year 3 took their learning outside and enjoyed an Active Maths lesson! We measured the length we could throw a beanbag using meter sticks, measuring tapes and trundle wheels. We then recorded the length in m and cm, before finding the equivalent lengths in cm. After this, we practised adding, subtracting and ordering the distances within our groups.
