Bannockburn Fun Run!

 It is nearly time for...

The Bannockburn Fun Run!

The Fun Run is nearly here and as a school, we are so excited about the event!

The Fun Run is a fantastic way to get out into the local community and get active whilst raising money for Cancer Research. The run consists of three different courses for varying fitness levels - 2km, 5km and 10km.

If you're interested in taking part and haven't applied yet, copy and paste this link into your web browser: https://www.runbritain.com/races?/https://www.runbritain.com/races?/keyword=Bannockburn

We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Measuring Length in Year 3

Our new topic in Year 3 this term is measurement. We are looking at length and perimeter. We discussed what units are best to measure length (depending on the size) and what equipment we have in school that we could use to measure length. We spoke about measuring using a ruler, a metre stick, a measuring tape and a trundle wheel. We looked at how many millimetres were in a centimetre and a metre. We discussed the importance of using rulers correctly to ensure our measurements were accurate and found appropriate objects we could measure in our classroom.

Stranded at sea!

Year 2 went on a rescue mission after finding a mysterious message in a bottle. We listened to the sounds of the sea and imagined sailing over the waves. However, we got caught in a storm and got shipwrecked ourselves! Have a look at at our boat trip and messages below.

Wilderness Day in Year 2!

To introduce our new topic 'Into the Wild', Year 2 took part in a 'Wilderness Day' in the Forest School.

The children got to explore the Forest School by making mud pies, hold worms and other mini-beasts, make bird feeders, jump through the trees and try out bark and leaf rubbings. Here are some photos of our wild day!

Year 1 LOVE the Library

Year 1 loved visiting the library before half term. They enjoyed a story and singing session and then had time to explore the library by looking at a variety of books. They looked at the books independently and some of them read books to their friends.  We decided on a range of different stories to take back to school.

Year 2 visit the London Philharmonic Orchestra!

Year 2 had an exciting end to the first half of the Spring Term, when we all went into central London to see the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall.

Over the past few weeks we had been learning the songs to 'Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants' and took part in singing along, whilst listening to the amazing instruments!
