Our new topic in Year 3 this term is measurement. We are looking at length and perimeter. We discussed what units are best to measure length (depending on the size) and what
equipment we have in school that we could use to measure length. We spoke about measuring using a ruler, a metre stick, a measuring tape and a trundle wheel. We looked at how many millimetres were in a centimetre and a metre. We discussed the importance of using rulers correctly to ensure our measurements were accurate and found appropriate objects we could measure in our classroom.
