Do you know when the Olympics began?

In Year 3 we have been learning about the ancient Greeks.

This week, we used historical sources to make predictions about the past. Did you know the ancient Greeks held the first ever Olympics?

We explored secondary sources to find out about the sports the ancient Greeks used to compete in. We discussed what we could see in each source and wrote down what we thought was happening in each picture.

Afterwards, we wrote questions to help us to find out more about the ancient Olympics. We had to use a question mark to punctuate our sentences accurately!

The Olympics are still held today! What a great tradition the ancient Greeks set up!
