Year 5 Linden Class - Harriet, I LOVE YOU!

Year 5 Linden completed their musical story today with help from two Matthews from the London Symphony Orchestra.  If you watch the video of the LSO playing, you might be able to spot one Matthew on the violin, and one on the double bass.

We used our work on rhythm and melody to create two contrasting marches.

The children then decided on an order, and a dramatic finish.

After writing about what they thought the music was about in previous weeks, they found out the gory truth today.  Why not ask a Year 5 Linden member to tell you all about Hector Berlioz, and his obsession with a girl called Harriet.... and his strange dreams...

The players from the LSO loved their time with the children and even stayed around at the end to let the children have a go on their own instruments (a double bass worth £15,000!).  We would like to say a massive thank you to them!
