Bannockburn Able Writers!

As part of our drive to raise standards in writing, we have taken part in two Able Writers Days at St Thomas More this year!

Our first was with fantasy fiction writer Marcus Alexander, which a group of children from Year 5 and 6 attended.

We were also lucky enough to work most recently with the brilliant fiction writer and script writer, Harry Oulton on our second trip with children from Years 3 and 4.

Marcus Alexander:

Harry Oulton:

"Today I enjoyed when we had to carry on writing a story." Anaiya

"I was very excited to meet an author of many books and be able to play games and talk with him." Amaniah

"Today we played boggle and made riddles. I think mine was most difficult." Redouane

"Today has been a really exciting opportunity as we got to meet a very nice and famous author, Harry Oulton. We got to do fun reading and writing activities. The was really fun and I wish I could go again!" Fortune

We can't wait for a group of Year 3 and 4 children to join the next Able Writers Day at Rockliffe Manor Primary Academy in May with the UK’s leading performance poets, Neal Zetter.
